Everyone should feel comfortable in the “JFSW place”, because there is something for everyone.

I am a 4th grade student and have often visited the Rosenstein exhibition. I would like the area behind the station to be a great place where everyone can enjoy spending time. Ideally a park where people can enjoy spending time even on very hot days.

There should be places for bicycles. Preferably next to a charging station for e-bikes. There should also be a bike MOT with a pump, screwdriver and the like. There should be plenty of seating. These should ideally be located under trees in case it is hot or raining. For sports, you could also build an area with hanging poles and the like. Ideally with cork flooring that doesn't get hot quickly. A lake would also be great, it's good for the urban climate and provides a habitat for animals and plants.

A restaurant with specialties from all over the world would be great. But it should only be very small so that it doesn't take up so much space for other great things. There must be good refreshments. I imagine several drinking fountains and a fountain like the one on Rathausplatz. That's good for hot summers. There must also be permanent public toilets. Of course, these must also be clean and well-maintained. Ideally with recycled toilet paper.

There will be bicycles and a dance floor that will be used to generate electricity. This is used to cool and operate an ice cream machine. So there is always delicious ice cream. In winter, the electricity can be used to make hot chocolate to warm up.

It would be great if there was a small soccer cage. Preferably with a rubber/cork floor so that it doesn't hurt so much if you fall down. There should also be a few special benches with solar panels on them. In good weather, travelers waiting at the station or other people can then charge their cell phones in a climate-friendly way.

To make the place better known, you could put up a colorful statue, e.g. an earth with a happy face, lots of trees, peaceful animals and people. There should be a great playground with swings, a merry-go-round, seesaw, giant trampoline, climbing frame, mud slide and more. The carousel should generate electricity. How much is displayed on a board.

It would be cool if there were a few hammocks. That would be great relaxation for stressed travelers and other people. Preferably made of fabric, which is more comfortable. A small, cozy café would be great for the winter. It should just be really small and cozy. With cozy cushions and delicious cakes.

I hope that the place will one day bring together lots of people who enjoy spending time there.

Jury statement:

The title “”JFSW*-Ort“ *everyone feels comfortable” is reflected in the variety of ideas for different “feel-good” elements. Many people, groups and generations are catered for: from games and sports to relaxation and encounters to public toilets and drinking fountains, which everyone needs from time to time.

Ecological aspects of sustainability are not neglected either: shady greenery, renewable energies and environmentally friendly mobility all play a role.

There are also ideas on how to give the square a “face” and make it usable all year round, whatever the weather, without prescribing a fixed, creative form.

In the description, this creates a place that can appeal to the diversity of urban society and, as the author writes, “brings together many people who enjoy spending time there”.

This means that all aspects that were rated as particularly important in the public participation process have been taken into account.

We see this as a particular achievement, especially in view of the author's young age, and we would like to express our appreciation.
