The STUTTGARTFORUM is a place for meeting and exchanging ideas, discussing and convincing, informing and learning, entertaining and having fun. A meeting place for the city, the region and guests from all over the world. Here, everyone can find out what is new or traditional, relevant, special, unique or groundbreaking in the region.
The STUTTGARTFORUM attracts visitors with its attractive, flexible and changing uses and offers, the extraordinary building with its innovative design and the great open atmosphere. This is a showcase for the region and its potential and ideas.
The offers and uses cover all areas of life: culture, science, business and society. They are low-threshold, constantly changing offers to walk in and participate, join in and discuss. They arise from urban society itself. The forum should be open around the clock, at least in some areas, and can be used by everyone and is oriented towards the common good.
Alternating presentations, tastings, workshops and forums are conceivable, e.g. of
- current events, such as sports festivals, trade fairs on the Filder, church congresses, etc.
- Associations: IHK, SMEs, healthcare, trade, nature conservation, transportation, social groups, etc.
- Civic associations: such as choirs, sports, social and transportation associations,
- Companies: New products from industry, start-ups, crafts and SMEs, etc.
- Institutions, such as schools, swimming pools, zoos, theaters, etc.
- For children there is an additional area with changing offers for games, technology, exercise, eating and resting - with supervision.
The STUTTGARTFORUM offers a wide range of gastronomy. A food court of cultures with delicacies from all over the world - organized with the Lindenmuseum, Haus der Kulturen and the Hauswirtschaftsschule - and a regional market on the Schlossgarten level. Snacks and a café on the square level. Bringing your own food is also ok.
The success of the activities in Area A3 is closely linked to the quality of use of the building. The place must have atmosphere, be bright, friendly, airy and spacious. The building should be transparent and invite people to simply walk in. It should create connections in all directions. A city loggia on the square and steps in the palace garden invite people to linger, look and show off.
The building is intended to bring Stuttgart's varied topography from the Schlossgarten to Athener Strasse to life. It should offer plenty of greenery and water features both inside and out. The shell would be a lattice shell with integrated solar shading, photovoltaics and façade greening. Rainwater and greywater will be used for recycling and heat exchangers.
