The aim of the international ideas contest "Space for Ideas" was to develop ideas with international appeal for Stuttgart. This central area in Stuttgart's city centre is to become a new calling card for the state capital. The numerous wishes and needs of Stuttgart's population, as expressed in surveys conducted in 2023, were incorporated into the ideas for use and the jury's decision. From 15 May to 15 July 2024, people from all over the world submitted proposals for the use of the vacant space: the City of Stuttgart received a total of over 400 ideas from 25 countries.
