Baden-Württemberg is the cybervalley of Germany. In no other federal state have so many inventions been made. This has contributed to the attractiveness and prosperity of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The Mercedes and Porsche museums attract visitors from all over the world. The quantity and quality of inventions are a unique selling point of this federal state.

We are therefore proposing the construction of a “House of Inventions” for this site.

The house should consist of two sections:

1. an exhibition area in which new and historical, technical inventions are exhibited using various media. These are to be technical inventions that were conceived and developed in Baden-Württemberg. These could, for example, be inventions from the fields of automobiles, mechanical engineering, building technology and technical tools, etc.

2. an Innovation and Creativity Center where people with an affinity for technology - especially children, young people and school classes - can experiment and develop ideas with the assistance of experts. Here, interested people could rent studio rooms, seminar and lecture rooms on a daily basis to promote technical creativity. Baden-Württemberg companies could sponsor engineers and product developers for teaching events and thus motivate future trainees.

With its multiple folded walls, the proposed five-storey building has a heterogeneous appearance that contrasts with the block-like building structures in the surrounding area. The shape of the floor plan allows for the creation of both small exhibition areas and large, interconnected spaces for exhibitions. The seminar and lecture rooms on the ground floor can also be used by external event organizers via the lower entrance.

The façades are designed to be very translucent. Special features are the digital panels attached to the façades, which project innovative products from the exhibition areas to the outside and are intended to generate interest. These panels are equipped with integrated photovoltaic technology. This is intended to arouse interest in the House of Inventions among visitors and guests arriving at the station.

The roof of the top floor is also to have a green roof with integrated photovoltaics.
